Blackbird Ranch has embraced the cultivation of Texas exotic hunting for big game animals, offering hunters in search of a unique experience the chance to hunt—all year long! —one of the many non-native exotic species now residing here. We are a remarkable property with all the right ingredients for a terrific outdoor experience without having to go far to get it. We are conveniently located in Fairfield, Texas—only 70 minutes from Dallas, and just two hours and 20 minutes north of Houston.
With over 500 acres high-fenced and stocked with exotics, we offer Texas exotic-only hunts year-round, and as an add-on for any trophy whitetail deer or hog hunt. Our exotic herd management and culling techniques have resulted in amazing trophy axis deer, fallow deer, and blackbuck, all available to harvest throughout the year.
Our Texas Exotic Hunting Lodge has all the amenities of home for family-friendly, private group, and corporate exotic hunting packages. It is set up perfectly for your privacy. A cozy sitting area with a fireplace and TV can be opened to the outside back porch. This makes it easy to enjoy morning coffee or an evening cocktail by the fire both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is fully equipped for your own meal preparation. Fresh coffee will be available along with Danish or donuts, toast, cereals, and juice. Other meals are not included but can be provided for an additional price based on your group needs. Please call us for details and menu options.
Most exotic hunting packages are two nights and three days. Arrival is around noon, and departure on your last day is also around noon. You can add more than one trophy exotic to your hunting package and get a discount for each animal added. We primarily provide guided stand hunting from elevated box or ladder stands. This is a fully guided package—if necessary, we will spot and stalk for your trophy exotic, which is extremely fast-paced. We boast a nearly 100% success rate on our Texas exotic hunts.

Our goal is to provide the hunter—our guest—with a reasonable opportunity to harvest exotic animals of the size the hunter has reserved. We maintain a 97% success rate on all our guided exotic hunts. If the opportunity does not present itself, you will be charged only the initial deposit cost. If a shot is attempted and/or an animal is wounded, the obligation of Blackbird Ranch is considered met. Every reasonable attempt will be made to recover a wounded animal. Your guide will choose when to stop the search for an animal from which blood or hair has been drawn and consider the hunt ended.
